Thank you to the wonderful team of volunteers from Sky, who kindly shared their expertise and muscle power in the Hope House gardens.

We were incredibly grateful to the 11 specialist engineers from Shropshire, Cheshire and Wales who got stuck in with clearing and building work. Their hard work is helping to create a beautiful area for children and families to use during their time with us.

Team Manager Duncan Knowles said that this was their second volunteer stint at Hope House. He said: "We enjoyed helping out before Christmas with lighting and other festive jobs, and felt that we wanted to continue to help at the hospice when we could. Most of our day-to-day work is usually on roofs, so it makes a change to be working on ground level!"

Fundraising Team Leader Cat Dowdeswell thanked the Sky crew for giving up their time. Their work and skills will help make a big difference to children with life-threatening conditions and their families.

Cat said: "We would love to hear from more organisations who would like to know more about volunteering opportunities in and around our fabulous hospice. We will look to match your skills with our needs and put together a memorable experience for everyone. And, there is always plenty of cake!"
